I don’t think Miss Behave was saying men should never go off on their own. Of course, men need their alone time and they don’t need to be second-guessed about it. Since I trust my husband to be faithful to me, I don’t need him to tell me every little place he goes. That would be really neurotic.

Still, I do find it a little strange that he would choose to do this on Father’s Day of all days, leaving his boys with their mother on a day that they’re supposed to be male-bonding with their dad. Sure, every day should be Father’s Day in a way, but every day is Christ’s day too and it would still be weird if somebody skipped out on his family on Christmas, don’t you think?

Oh well, maybe he just isn’t a holiday kind of guy. But I’m hoping that it turns out he is doing something important that requires secrecy like visiting Iraq. And I’m REALLY hoping he isn’t just having an affair because we sure don’t need any more of that.

You must have read lots of Cosmo, Redbook, and LHJ, I guess. Your posts content seems to come straight from their pages. You have a concept and a vision which may or may not be realistic. You know nothing of Mark Sanford's family life, any much more the guy that lives in the house two doors down from you.

How much psychology have you studied? How much do you know about the male mind? Do you realize that men and women have different ideas about life? I can start with Bible quotes, but really don't need to, do I?

It isn't about Dad's day. It is about what Dad does with HIS day (as you wish!) if there is to be one. None of us live like Ozzie and Harriet. Most of life is more Eddie Haskell. But, even Ward Cleaver liked to be alone some times. Picture Jethro Gibbs building a sailboat in his basement. That is the dream of lots of guys. It isn't about sailing it!

Some Dad's involve their children in every event. Others don't. None of them is worthy of our criticism, FRiends. They all surely enjoyed the event that set it all in motion... and the children are their fruit!

As to Mark Sanford, I hope he is rested and ready for the next battle! I'll bet he hugged his wife and kids when he got home! I'd bet he's done it before all the scrutiny! Note the kids faces and energies.
