The whereabouts of Gov. Mark Sanford have been unknown to state officials since Thursday, and some state leaders are questioning who is in charge of the executive office.
Neither the governors office nor the State Law Enforcement Division has been able to reach Sanford, who left the mansion in a black SLED Suburban SUV, said Sen. Jake Knotts and three others familiar with the situation who declined to be identified.
Sanfords last known whereabouts were near Atlanta, where a mobile telephone tower picked up a signal from his phone, authorities said.
One official familiar with the situation said there is no indication that foul play is involved.
. . . . .
First lady Jenny Sanford told The Associated Press her husband has been gone for several days and she doesn't know where. She said she was not concerned. Jenny Sanford said the governor said he needed time away from their children to write something.
Well, call it what you will, but it seems my suspicions were well-founded. :-(
Look, I don’t think anybody’s against a man going out where he wants to without asking his wife’s permission first, I certainly wouldn’t prevent my husband from doing that. But to completely leave town for a whole week including a holiday weekend most men spend with their kids (especially sons), without telling her where he’s going, or even leaving her with contact information in case one of his children may have an emergency? I’m sorry, that’s really a red flag for a marriage in trouble.
And in fact, that’s exactly what it turned out to be.
Sometimes, you don’t really need a degree in psychology at all... just a little common sense.
It’s too bad though, I was hoping to be wrong about this one.
YOU are one sad, sick person. YOU "take a hike."
I can't understand these people who stray from marriage. It seems that they have no self control, nor self respect. It's a damn shame...
But, on the other side of that coin is Sarah Palin. She is being tested every day, and shows a strong stability through hardships. I have a daughter that came to me and said "hey, Pop, I'm PG". Fortunately they are married with two, now!...
Yes, I heard. What is it with these politicians. I wonder if any of them are faithful to their wives (Bush is, I do believe).
