A commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards has been arrested for refusing to obey Iran's Supreme Leader, according to reports from the Balatarin.

General Ali Fazli, who was recently appointed as a commander of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Tehran, is reported to have been arrested after he refused to carry out orders from the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to use force on people protesting the controversial re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Fazli, a veteran of the devastating Iran-Iraq war is also believed to have been sacked and taken to an unknown location.

The Revolutionary Guards is a separate body to the mainstream armed forces in Iran and is seen as one of the main and most powerful bodies responsible for protecting the Islamic theocratic regime.

Earlier today the Revolutionary Guards issued a warning on its website threatening to come down hard on Iranians who continue protesting against what many in the country see as rigged elections

People and military as one!

“Poor guy.”

Brave guy, not a poor one. He’s not looking for pity he’s making a stand for his people. Don’t devalue his stand by giving him pity instead of praise. A stance for a man in his position takes guts.

“If police fired randomly into a crowd in the US, there would be return fire.”

I don’t think the average officer would fire on his own fellow citizens. Just no way.

“(of course, it took the whole free world to blast Hitler out of office...)”

Hitler had a fully brainwashed citizenry and made alliances with some of the most ruthless butchers on earth.

He also had some of the best minds at his disposal and had spent his time preparing.

I have no idea why or how, but he also convinced entire nations that the Jews were responsible for everything that went wrong and used brilliant minds to literally start a wholesale extermination in one of the most methodical ways possible.

He was one of the few people in history who had the chance to do wonderful things but went very very wrong. I’m still dumbstruck and all he managed to do. All those deaths.

“The nice thing about America is that we really don’t have to riot in the streets (white America, anyway).”

I know. We have the most stable country in the world.

Maybe it’s just as well. Countries around the world need to stand on their own two feet and that way they can’t blame America for the political/economic/domestic problems that go on inside their borders.

“These mullah’s still have the arms and power. I pray for the brave persian people standing up against sheer odds of being murdered down the line.”

Just remember, we stood against the Brits and they were the superpower at the time. The Persians have the willpower and this has been bubbling away for some time, all the time. No one can live under the boot and not get angry at some point. Their anger shows that they are not a broken people.

Because he does not like conflict or confrontation. I think you will see this reflected in his presidency. Non-violent protest is confrontation to the max. But he is not espounding on this.

If the Mullahs fall, of course Obama, not Bush, takes all credit. But clearly from a historical standpoint, Bush started the process in Iraq...then Lebanon....

But, I am pessimistic. I think the Mullahs will crush their own people like grapes...

Janet Reno screeched that there was "child abuse going on!".

Even if, for the sake of discussion, if that was true, since when are tax-collectors the preferred agents to be used in ending child abuse?

That was certainly discussed at the time, they had no authority regardless but you know, none of that seemed to matter at the time.

She was full steam ahead for “showtime”, the “enforcers” to “show their stuff” and teach those “loonies” a lesson, on and on and on. Some of the comments I heard from some of those participants (after the assault on the compound) were sickening, and I’m not a squeamish man. A lot of us “friends” parted ways after that.

Waco though sad, was not a mass protest against an obvious election fraud. In the US, The police would not kill, the military will not assist, the politicos would be running for a hole in the ground. And if the BATF tried anything they would be overwhelmed. Although I don’t think the BATF would try to uphold a fraudulent election, I’m just saying.....

Please pause for a moment and reconsider what you just typed!!! You have described the current mess!

I think he started out by just being nuts and it spiraled down from there!

True Nuihuru...if no one comes to Iran's aide it'll mean they'll have to pull back all their terrorist "outreaches' throughout the world, thus banks and their 'surplus' for arms will diminish, then the anger within( not being paid for their mischief) will falter and in the end those funds will trun to the Persian people not the exporting of terror. MAYBE even the UN's weekly anti-israel bond will begin to crumble and they'll be expose for the frauds they are thus having to frantically move to the headquarters in Babylon, Iraq.

Now if Saudia Arabia and wahabiism could take a hit like Iran can possibly make happen. Iran now is a fine example of what may( I hope not this whole grass roots movemtn in America can move the nations without any violence ever) happen in America down the line if Abu hussein obama doesn't change his frenetic ways.
