It ought to be obvious that Western societies violent coercion by individuals is and must remain illegal. Laws must be enforced and that may require force but this must be reserved to government.
You sound like a libertarian. Don’t be fooled by talk of freedom to dress a certain way. For the most part, these women are either brainwashed or forced into it.
Like Mormons are brainwashed? Like Catholics are brainwashed on issues like birth control? abortion? The freepers on this website have grown control-freakish indeed if they want to ban conservative forms of reverent dress. And please spare me, everyone, about your knowledge of muslims. I know many muslim women and they not only choose to wear it, but speak reverently about how it de-sexualizes society and honors God. Sheesh. I stop posting in FR for awhile only to come back and find advocates for banning clothing that most muslims rightfully find reverent and conservative (and that includes women). Sad.
