Powder..patch..ball FIRE!

“Domestics are always messy. I hear of many cases where the wife or girlfriend gets a protective order, then calls up the man and begs him to come over because she is lonely.”

When I went through my divorce, my attorney cautioned me on just that type of situation and how many men fall for it.

My friend’s ex (a latina) had someone call him and say they were from her embassy and there was a family emergency and that he had to call her immediately to call home. He almost fell for it and she could have said he broke the protective order. BTW the protective order was for 3 days and was put in place because she was drunk and he knocked a beer can from her hand. Of course HE was arrested and charged with assault. When they went to court for her trying to get a 2 YEAR protective order (which would conveniently allowed her to get her residency visa) she was so unbelievable the judge refused to order it. My friend’s lawyer said he was extremely lucky, the judges almost always will issue the orders.

I’ve got a friend that was recently railroaded on a domestic violence charge, then issued a restraining order along with supervised probation which was immediately followed by several hundred phone calls from his wife trying to get him to come over. I helped move his stuff out of their upscale home in a very uncomfortable setting with a sheriff’s deputy running interference with the wife. Her excuse for why she did this to him was, “You don’t pay enough attention to me.” No joke!
