Mousavi campaigned for freedom of expression and for privatization and against an alms-based economy.

Obama Campaigned on fiscal responsibility. Actions, past and present, speak louder than words

Do we really want to interfere in the elections in another country? Would we want any other nation to interfere here? No great fan of the guy in the White House, but there may be decent reasons not to do/say anything.

Mr. Gorbachev I have no comment about your wall.

Exactly-—I keep thinking WWRD—What Would Reagan Do?!

From another posting.

All Obama really had to do was repeat what George Bush said in a 2008 speech:

"To the people of Iran: You are rich in culture and talent. You have a right to live under a government that listens to your wishes, respects your talents, and allows you to build better lives for your families. Unfortunately, your government denies you these opportunities, and threatens the peace and stability of your neighbors. So we call on the regime in Tehran to heed your will, and to make itself accountable to you. The day will come when the people of Iran have a government that embraces liberty and justice, and Iran joins the community of free nations. And when that good day comes, you will have no better friend than the United States of America."

President George W. Bush, January 13, 2008.

To rid Iran of the apocalyptic leaders it has now will be a step in the right direction.

As it stands now, those who think nuclear war will be rewarded in Heaven, with virgins, have got to go!

Boythe left is not going to like that their weakling has been called out by Mousavi. I thought he wanted to “talk” with Iran? Might be a tad difficult if you insult the man who may end up leading Iran though all of this?

Obama blamed Georgia for being invaded by russia. Everyone should have known during the primary.

Would we want any other nation to interfere here?

What would you call Obama's refusal to check the validity of his internet credit card donations during his campaign?

Touchy, isn’t he? I mean I support the opposition, but after all isn’t Mousavo the guy who started the nuke program to begin with? Who was one of the students who took our hostages? Isn’t he a “moderate” to Ahmadinejad, like Trotsky was to Stalin?

Obama Campaigned on fiscal responsibility. Actions, past and present, speak louder than words.

The protests in Iran signal that the people of Iran trust Mousavi's promises more than they trust Ahmadinejad's present tyranny.

If you want a guarantee from me about Mousavi, sorry I can't fulfill such a strawman fallacy.

As I said, I would take little pride in supporting the corrupt election results and I would take little pride in shrugging-off the demonstrators.

We do not have to give them Military support; but we could certainly give more support and as well, 'moral support'. . .

As for interfering; see no moral equivalency per what you are suggesting. Democracies 'don't mess' with other Democracies. Totalitarian nations disempower their populations and abuse them. Their ideologies are viral, toxic. . .they cause untold human suffering; they infect and impact the rest of the planet. When these people, who must live with such; need a strong hand; strong word to help them away from this suppression and suffering and move towards Freedom. . .they should receive it; from those who are strong.

As in Iraq; we have been encouraging Iranians to make a move 'for themselves' for many years; now they have. But this will all be for nothing - and that would be a travesty - if the Free World; and most importantly American Leadership, fail these people.

It seems this Mousavi gets Iranians out in the street rioting against the Ayatollahs. So I support Mousavi

Anything that will shake things up is better than Amedinejad and his Mullahs

Either Phil or David Duval would be terrific stories and both are good guys. As long as the foul mouth bammie supporter tiger loses, all is fine with me.

Don’t be surprised if the people who oppose obama are the subjects of a police crack down after the 2016 elections. And possibly the 2012 election.

Actually, the fact that Mousavi has some “street creds” with the Mullahs might make him the only possible alternative, at this time.

IF he got rid of the mercenaries, the Hamas and Hezbollah Palistinian “Hajig” like he promised, that would be huge.

No, the guy is no angle, but he is better than what they have now -—

And we need to keep Iran destabilized, as much as possible right now.

Hopefully this will give Mousavi a boost. Levelling criticism at the US president may give Mousavi some needed cred (Iran is what it is). 0bama may have inadvertently done Mousavi a favor.

If you knew the true meaning of democratic principles, you would speask out in favor of the people - something Obama refuses to do.

Actually, it is a measure of the frustration of the Iranian people, that they are willing to risk their lives for even a LITTLE bit of change!
