Yeah. But Iranians are using the election results as an excuse to protest against the mullahs.
Here’s an excerpt from an Iranian blogger: Amir, Mashhad, aged 23: Please let the world know the people of Iran are using the election and its outcome as an excuse, their real problem is the whole system and the corrupt regime of the Islamic Republic. Anything that happens to us is because of this religion. How can I make you understand, religious beliefs are personal and should not be enforced on the public.
I guess my thoughts are shared by most here. There isn’t much difference between the leaders fighting for power - they can all die. But my prayers are for the people who genuinely want freedom. God help them!
This is typical of what happens when a protest hits the streets. The original aims tend to ‘multiply’. Mousavi might be attempting to simply overturn the election, but some of the people in the street are thinking in broader terms.
