The Department of Defense has withdrawn a training manual question that linked protesters across the United States to terrorism, but there's evidence coming to light that describing Americans as terror suspects, or "low-level" terror suspects, is routine.
According to the letter from the Northern California ACLU, the DoD's "Annual Level 1 Antiterrorism (AT) Awareness Training for 2009" tells department personnel "that certain First Amendment-protected activity may amount to 'low-level terrorism.'"
Specifically the training "Knowledge Check 1" asks, "Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism activity?"
The multiple choices are: Attacking the Pentagon, IEDs, Hate crimes against racial groups and Protests.
The correct answer in the training course is "Protests."
Now, according to a Fox News report, the Pentagon has withdrawn the question.
A spokesman told the network the question didn't make it clear what the difference was between violent and illegal actions and peaceful protests, which are protected by the U.S. Constitution.
"They should have made it clearer," Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Les Melnyk told Fox. He declined to specify when the line would be crossed from one into the other.
But he said all of the 1,546 people who took the exam and saw the question will be notified of the "error" and told that there is a difference between lawful objections and violent unrest.

So anyone that thinks the military won’t cooperate with the crackdown should really think about this.
Well....Look what happened to the French Jews who were rounded up by **French** police officers.
So citizens peacefully protesting are now terrorists and evidently have no rights, but someone from, say, Egypt or Pakistan who is a follower of Bin Laden is to be given all the rights of a U.S. citizen.
Gee, that’s funny— I don’t remember the Bush Pentagon labelling Code Pink as terrorists....
hh
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of the word protesters is a rabid Leftist. Maybe it's because I grew up in a time when Vietnam war protests and college takeovers and Weather Underground agitators did all the protesting. Then again, over the past several years we've had protest after protest against the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, the Group of Seven, etc, etc. And then of course, we've had the Code Pink, George Soros anti-Bush Iraq war protests. We’ve had left wing Million Man marches, Million Mom marches, Million Gay marches ad nauseum for the past many decades.
Maybe the folks at the Pentagon see it the same way. NOT Dad and Mom and Grandpa protesting the sellout of the country to socialism. I still don't think the OVERWELMINGLY conservative military see the Tea Party protests as bad in any way.
Just saying...
Pretty neat how they brought them all together. Sort of told ya the beginning.
Take care.
During the tea parties I didn’t see any police in riot gear. I saw a lot of cops dressed in normal uniform, enjoying an easy day.
If you think about it that says a lot.
That is true, the cops who do the tea parties know that it is among the best crowds going. Heck, the leadership of the various tea parties makes sure that no one in the crowd even drops a candy bar wrapper. We are very placid indeed.
Have a good and blessed day Joe.
Biggirl
These are all just a FEW of the images of protest I remember these past few years. All Leftist or Mohammedan, and often violent.
Remember those ‘census’ guys coming around to your house with GPS units?
Just thinkin’.
Well that is it, the tea parties protests are among the best behalved going.
Just wondering, have you ever been to a tea party protest?
This happened the last time a Democrat was the White House. Democrat administrations are always eager and quick to redirect military action from neutralizing or destroying foreign enemies to punishing and silencing domestic political opponents.
correction: the last time a Democrat was IN the White House.
No, I had to work on April 15. I was with them in spirit, though.
Look. I support peaceful protest. Always have, always will. The fact that finally, conservatives are using protest to express their displeasure at the sellout of our country is absolutely justifiable in everyway.
But my point, I think is well made. The Left has used protest to undermine our values for years, and often in a violent way. Just google “Seattle protests 1999” and you’ll see yourself. Look at the photos I posted. Are these people not low-level terrorists? I honestly believe that is what the “Pentagon” (not a building, but rather some very human military officers, almost always conservative) had in mind.
Well the left have become pros at it. We are newbies to it.
Nonsense.
You can also be reasonably confident that the tea parties are attended by anonymous looking, sign-holding, FBI moles planted by the Obama "antiterrorism" brownshirts under Eric Holder's control. That's just the way power-grubbing Democrat administrations do things.
ACORN will likely also be involved in domestic spying to ensure that the Obama-Reid-Pelosi troika maintains a stranglehold on power for as long as possible.
