Republicans Need To Lose Racial Stupidity
ToTheCenter.com ^ | 6/17/2009 | Anthony Leone

Posted on 06/19/2009 9:49:48 PM PDT by Colonel Kangaroo

If the Republican Party is trying to lose the 2012 presidential elections, they must be getting an early start.

First, there was South Carolina GOP activist Rusty DePass, who said that an escaped gorilla from a zoo was an ancestor to First Lady Michelle Obama.

Now an aide to Republican State Senator Diane Black mistakenly sent an e-mail with a picture of all the U.S. presidents. Of course, President Obama’s “picture” was a black background with only two white eyes.

Maybe it’s a bit old fashion to say this in today’s political climate where disrespecting the president has become the “in” thing to do, but people need to respect the Commander-In-Chief.

It was bad enough when many liberals and Democrats called former President Bush a lot of nasty names, but what some Republicans and conservatives are saying about President Obama is downright offensive. And neither of them deserves that type of treatment.

All Americans, despite their political backgrounds, must show respect to our president. We can strongly and respectfully disagree with any of the president’s policies and decisions with which we may take issue with. After all, it is what our forefathers fought for.

Disrespecting any president just furthers the political divide in this country and creates unneeded resentment.

The writer makes some sense. Conservatives should have principled differences with President Obama's policies. But if anybody can't do any better than to make trashy personal comments about the man and even worse about his family, they should keep quiet and learn enough to be able to intelligently oppose the president on principal. Childish venting and low "humor" certainly doesn't impress most Americans. Of course, the hypocrisy of many leftists after the vile anti-Bush rhetoric of the last eight years is laughable, but two wrongs do not make a right. Whether Bush or Obama, the office of the president and the president's personal life deserves respect.

Liberals are much worse.

Talk about painting with a broad brush! Wow, guilt by association only works on Republicans has anyone noticed that? Democrats cannot feel guilt.

"All Americans, despite their political backgrounds, must show respect to our president."

No. He is not our king, he is not the flag, he is not G-d. We do not have to bend the knee to him. Like every other man, he's entitled to the respect he earns.

"Of course, President Obama’s 'picture' was a black background with only two white eyes."

On the other hand, this has nothing to do with "disrespect" and everything to do with being a racist schmuck. It's offensive, counterproductive and completely irrelevant—which, come to think of it, perfectly describes GOP establishment apparatchiks.

That doesn’t work for me...

When the Democrats get their own house in order with all the crap they throw towards Republicans, then, and only then, will I listen to complaints like this.

Besides, this all pretty disingenuous since this writer had to dig awfully deep to find some examples to support his contention.

As any one with internet access can readily attest and prove, the left is much more guilty of this kind of behavior.

Nope. Not buying it, not for a single second.

Not this.

This man is out to destroy our country. If you want this, fine. That is your business. As far as I am concerned, this man is a domestic enemy of the Constitution of the United States. I am not going to show a single ounce of respect. I will restrain myself within the boundaries of the law. I am not interested in profanity, and will not use it, but the man and his wife are socialist, marxist, racists.

If someone is offended by those words, I am happy to debate, and I won't lose. While his children are and should be off limits in every way, his wife has placed herself squarely in the public arena and is doing everything in her power to advance his anti-American agenda.

I disagree. Liberals painted Bush with every piece of hatred they could find, from 9/11 truthers to vile accusations of war crimes, on to referring to a graduate of Harvard and Yale as stupid. This is from a party that elected a moron who can't speak a complete sentence unless someone writes it for him and someone else displays it on a teleprompter for him to read. His own vice president even cracked a joke about it.

They can go to hell. Barack Obama is an opportunistic parasite and his followers are self loathing suicide wannabes whose only goal and only motivation are the same: self destruction. They debased all political discourse in this country. They started it during Vietnam. The trick worked, so they pandered to the maniacs in their party and it worked again. Liberals are unworthy of truth. They can have dirty tricks and hate. It was good enough when it was their tactic, now it is our turn. Let's see how much they like it.

I hope those “thousands” of protestors risking their necks on the streets of Tehran don’t read this. Until someone can prove to me that what occurred in THIS country on November 4th 2008 was legitimate, I’m going to continue having a problem with Obama.

If the world was the way Democratic party wanted it Obama would be a slave.
Slavery would be legal across the US as the Democratic party wanted in 1860.
Blacks would be unable to share a train car with whites in Democratic Southern States.
The Federal government would be segregated like Woodrow Wilson wanted in 1915.
Blacks would not be able to vote in the South, as the Democratic party whiched during FDR’s presidency.
The voting rights act would not have passed, as the majority of Democrats voted in the 1960s.
How fortunate we and Obama are that the Democratic policies were repudiated.

I think the proper way to respond to this sort of thing is to find one or two goat molesters who are registered Democrats, then start a PR campaign urging all Democrats to learn to control their bestiality, for the good of the children.

LOL ! Give me a break. What a crock of baloney.

The Republic got along quite well while opponents called Jefferson a rapist, Jackson's wife a whore, Lincoln a baboon, Roosevelt a cripple, and Bush a Hitler.

Comes with the territory in a free wheeling democracy. And we are a lot tamer than the ancient Greeks and how they treated their leaders.

Besides, the present POTUS is a low life, cocaine using, corrupt, lying, power hungry whinny malcontent who doesn't deserve to shine shoes in the white house let alone sit in the big chair.

And calling trash trash is what every Freeborn American has every right to do.

We in the US have always had a tendency to consider political opponents as willful domestic enemies. Many on the left thought President Bush was a domestic enemy. The early Federalists thought the Jeffersonians were domestic enemies. The US has had sorry/misguided/incompetent presidents before, remember Carter’s hug with Brezhnev?

This is not about outward show of respect or disrespect, this is simply about childish, amateur name calling and personal and political stupidity, whether it has or doesn’t have a tinge of racism to it.

Rush owns the microphone and can explain what he does for humor for 3 hours the next day after he is attacked or called on for “Magic Negro” parody, whether it’s advisable to do that in the first place is his call.

To send mail, emails or have Web postings with any such material by Republican election activists, when not only they don’t have the ability to explain what they are doing but most likely have no idea what they were doing in the first place, is the height of immaturity and stupidity.

It doesn’t help these idiots, however few of them there are, and it paints everyone in Republican party with a broad brush of racism, which media can pick up on, and it only detracts from the real issues and discussions that conservatives need to talk about.

The “Democrats / liberals are worse” argument not only is going to fall on deaf ears and is not appropriate in such instances, anyway.

I think that the comments on here prove that we can all find plenty of things to criticize Obam for without resorting to racism. I don’t and won’t respect this disgusting Marxist pig, but the racism doesn’t help anyone and it cheapens our message.
