King of Pomp is never at a loss for words

As you wait on the line to interview Don King by telephone, you get to hear Ray Charles singing “God Bless America.” You just know King is sitting in his Florida headquarters catching his breath as you wait.

King is helping promote Saturday’s fight at the Radisson Hotel in Columbia between Luis “The Peoples Champ” Collazo and David “The Russian Nightmare” Gogichaishvili.

Suddenly, he is on the line and ready to talk. So, Don, why is the United States such a great country?

“This country is evolving,” he begins. “The people are governed by the consent of the govern. This is a nation that opens the doors. We’ve been hypocritical. We have lived the self-evident lie and tricked us, rather than the self-evident truth. But the self-evident truth still prevails in the essence with our competition with liberty, freedom. That is the whole thing that makes our country work in spite of, not because of.”

If I decided to spout a continuous stream of non-sequiturs and gibberish I, too, would be "never at a loss for words".
