Is it just me or does anyone else think that maybe the Iranians look at Iraq and see what they have now, and say “I want some of that”.

Could it just be that Dubya had it right and once freedom got a foothold in the Middle East it just might propagate?

Of course you will never hear this theory mentioned in the main street media.

That was one of the purposes of the invasion. Dropping freedom in the middle of countries run by authoritarians of different flavors.

Obama is sitting back waiting to see if this is going to work and then jump in at the last minute and take credit. Just like he’s ultimately going to take credit for Iraq and Afghanistan. At this point, he’s either quiet or slightly negative about both, waiting until it’s a definite “victory” as acclaimed by his state-run media. THEN, it will be Obama’s victory ...

This was a discussion many years ago when the Iraq thing was going on. The consensus was that it would take years before we knew. Bush would be long forgotten before the ramifications of giving Iraq a chance at freedom were manifest.

So the Iraq decision will either turn out to be a colossal failure or brilliant. Of course one can be sure that Bush will never get any credit if it works out for the best.
