Would Obamacare Discriminate?
June 18, 2009

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Bob in Auburn, Massachusetts, nice to have you with us here on Open Line Friday on Thursday. Hi.

CALLER: Rush, glad to get to talk to you. Big fan.

RUSH: Thank you.

CALLER: Big, big fan. You know, I want to run the health care thing by you. I think people are missing the whole point here and maybe you're not, because I try to listen as much as I can but sometimes I don't. Obama really doesn't care about health care at all. He doesn't care if it costs $10 trillion. It has nothing to do with health care. All it has to do with is blackmailing Republican voters. And I'll tell you the reason how he's going to do this. Once it gets passed, you know the private sector is gonna bounce most of their insurance over to the government plan.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: Could be 50, could be a hundred million people. Forty percent of those people are Republicans. Now, you go in and you cast your vote, and if you think you're going to cast a vote for a Republican when maybe your wife has cancer or somebody in your family has got a big problem? No, as a matter of fact you're probably not even going to register as a Republican anymore because you're going to be too afraid to. And don't be surprised if there's a landslide for him again in 2012.

RUSH: Wait a minute. I missed a step here. A hundred million Americans go to the government-run health care, 40% of them are Republicans that do that.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: What does that have to do with the way they're going to vote?

CALLER: Well, Rush, there's an advisory council that's going to vote on your health, okay? And now if you're a Republican, and anyone in your family was over a quarter of the --

RUSH: Oh, oh, oh, oh. I missed it. You're saying that a Democrat government run by Obama deciding who to approve and not to approve in terms of care and what kind of care --

CALLER: Exactly.

RUSH: -- will look at party affiliation and say, ah, you go to the back of the line, we gotta take care of --

CALLER: This is what it's all about, Rush, believe me. He doesn't care one bit about health care.

RUSH: You could have a point there. They are doing that in other things. Some people tried to establish that that's how they were closing dealerships. I don't think anybody closed the loop for sure on this. But the one thing you're really right about is, it isn't about health care. That's just the diving board, if you will, the springboard to get into your heart, it's not about health care at all. It's about control; it's about grabbing two-and-a-half trillion dollars from the private economy and bringing it into government Obama control.

Somebody called here the other day and made a good point. There really isn't a crisis in health care in this country. The crisis in health care, if you want to say that does exist, is the fear that a major illness or catastrophic could wipe you out. Which isn't gonna change. In fact, the odds of you being wiped out by a catastrophe or accident once the government gets started running this stuff is greater than if the private sector does, but day to day there's no health care crisis in this country. You can get it. So it isn't about health care per se. This is just about gaining control, taking money, and controlling people's lives, and wiping out Republicans, a nice cherry on top.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: By the way, folks, I don't want to minimize our previous caller's point that an Obama administration running health care could cause fear among Republicans and not getting treated. I have some people -- I don't know any of these people -- but I have some friends who know Republicans who vote for Democrats because of the stem cell issue. But their kids are sick and they think the Democrats are the ones that care about it. So if you're Republican, and you have a sick child, and you think you'll be discriminated against by Obama health care because you are a Republican, what are you likely to do? Switch parties, at least in your registration. Look. This administration is utilizing just this kind of fear to get everything it wants and they're having some success with it.

It’s so beyond that!

I’m sure Buttcrack would use his personality and our moronic education system to somehow get a healthcare-related abortion mill started by Planned Parenthood so they can more easily get on with exterminating minorities.

Are contributors to Republican political campaigns fit to own Chrysler dealerships?

everything will end up being tied in to your records when this is done, ACORN will see to that for Obama.
This is nothing more than Hitler reborn ... enough people believe in him and his fear mongering, lie enough and people believe it, they follow him right to the door of hell itself.

As if he gives a fat rats a$$ about anyone but himself.

Pelosi and her Politburo are the same way.

Ok, come on. Here’s the deal. Would dems do this if they could? Yep. Will they be able to do it? Nope and for a simple reason. We still have a secret ballot. Also you don’t have to tell the truth of how your are registered and if are forced to it, you change but still vote republican or whatever party that happens to take their place if they keep the crap up they are doing now. The truth is Americans would stand for this, they are already boiling on certain items. If the dems tried this it would have to be in the second term, which I don’t think he will get. In fact I feel pretty positive he is going to be impeached before his first term is over.

re: Also you don’t have to tell the truth of how your are registered

Isn’t that public record? Come election time all the candidates running for office sure know what party we are in. Some even tailor their campaign literature accordingly.
