Obama facing some doubts among Americans

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - He remains personally popular, but President Barack Obama is starting to see signs that some of his economic policies are causing doubts among many Americans.

Two polls published on Thursday illustrate the political risk Obama faces as he turns his attention toward an overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system, an issue so contentious that previous attempts have failed to address high cost and availability issues.

The New York Times/CBS News poll put his job approval rating at 63 percent, an impressive number given the high 9.4 percent unemployment rate.

In spite of his popularity, the polls showed a public concerned about deficit spending as a result of a $787 billion economic stimulus package and government intervention in the wake of the government's bailout of banks and auto companies.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll said a solid majority of 58 percent believe Obama and Congress should focus on keeping the budget deficit down even if it means delaying a recovery. The deficit is forecast to skyrocket beyond $1 trillion for the 2009 fiscal year.

The Journal/NBC poll said 56 percent oppose giving financial aid to ailing automaker General Motors in exchange for the federal government obtaining a stake in the company.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Americans are "rightly frustrated with where the economy is and how we ended up where we did" and that Obama recognized all his decisions on fixing it were not popular.

"Some of those things are popular, some of those things aren't popular, Gibbs told reporters. "I think the president would tell you he's going to do what he thinks is in the best interest of the American economy."

He's going to do what it takes to create a socialist state.

Bush’s economic policies patched up some of the overriding flaws in the economy he inherited from Clinton, but some of the flaws from Clinton’s last couple of years were impossible to patch and finally hatched the last years of the Bush administration.

And the Bush patches are due to expire, which will gift our nation with all of the Clintonian flaws, plus the pressure cooker that Obama has impregnated with his own set of problems.

In 5 years we could be looking at a world of hurt.

But through it all, Obama will probably be considered an extremely popular President.

Reminds me of the guy that everybody has in their extended family. Everybody loves him. No, in fact almost everybody adores him. He always has a good story, a good joke, and something good to say to everyone. But you can’t believe a word he says because his own life never amounted to anything. He borrows money and burns bridges when he can’t pay it back. He constantly gets involved with people selling “deals too good to be true” and loses his shirt in the process. Yep, now we have one as President... Except he’s probably part swindler, part inept distant cousin, and part black. The latter which makes him above criticism.

With obozo converting the Republic into a socialist state, he guarantees himself another 4 years with the liberal leftist RATS maintaining control of Congress for decades to come just like the RATS held control of the House of Representatives for 50 years until 1994. Then the PUBS had creative style and imagination and wherewithal to make good on their promises with the “Contract With America”.

With the economy (jobs) not recovering....paired with his non-response to the Iran situation (young constituents, especially) I expect so see some drop in the polls. If we are attacked, again.....he can kiss his ass goodbye.

I agree and this economy is going to implode with Obozo & the Rats getting the blame. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch than these scumbags.

“Oh he seems like such a nice young man, too bad he cant do the job” probably best sums up the situation.

American business and populace will soon sort the dirt from the straw. It wont take long. In the short run, he will strive to try to run a socialist/islamic/nation. He is already striving to de-fang the military, squash the age old relationships with our age old friends in the G7, and COZY up to the Islamic nations even to the point of declaring we are not a “christian “nation...., which is easy for one who spent their formative years in muslim Indonesia.

Gotta ask though... how did this non citizen Manchurian make it so far???

The New York Times/CBS News poll put his job approval rating at 63 percent

In other words, it's really somewhere around 1.2 percent.

Wrong , the left has sufficiently brainwashed an entire generation who don’t have brains enough to know they are getting screwed. He’ll raise taxes and people will cheer him. This ass clown is in for 8 years and by that time America will be LONG gone.

I have no doubts about obama.

I have no doubt he is a socialist with fascist leanings.

I have no doubt he is lying about his birth certificate and hiding something.

I have no doubt he considers himself (erroneously) smarter and more enlightened than most people.

I have no doubt he is taking our Country in a reprehensible, repressive, big-government direction that is the antithesis of the Founding Father's vision for America.

I have no doubt he is going to keep pushing until there is a severe backlash.

I have no doubt that obama is the most important thing in obama's life.

"President Barack Obama is starting to see signs that some of his economic policies are causing doubts among many Americans"

The writer of this has a firm grasp of the obvious to which I would emphatically state:
NO SH!T SHERLOCK, what was your first clue

And those who voted for the "Flying 0" have an IQ equal to grapefruit

When do Obama voters wake up?

When they have to get a job, because Mommy and Daddy throw them out of the house, and when California goes belly up and stops paying wellfare.

Soon.
