Senate's slavery apology includes reparations caveat

The U.S. Senate, by unanimous consent, passed a resolution apologizing for slavery and racial segregation, according to reports.

Republican Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, one of the sponsors, said the measure was no “panacea,” but could help trigger “reconciliation.”

Slavery existed and was tolerated above the Mason-Dixon for many many years. Maybe you can get whichever part of your bloodlines originated from the earlier settlers to pay whichever part of your bloodlines sacrificed for the Union. In fact, feel free to write yourself a check in as large an amount as you feel you can pay, the sky’s the limit.
