America inherited the institution and mindset of slavery from the Europeans — and the Spanish imported far more slaves than the English ever did. It took the United States some time to shake off the deeply ingrained slave culture, but it did. Instead, let the Europeans apologize for slavery and colonization of much of the world!

My great-great-grandfather was in the 8th Iowa Infantry. He did all my apologizing for me. He was at Shiloh, Vicksburg, and various other small engagements in Mississippi & Alabama.

How about a thank you from some of those folk to me for his service??? BTW, he died relatively young from TB caught in the trenches of Vicksburg.
