um...they aren’t contesting the regime they are contesting the elections. Even if they “win” the only thing that will chanage is the President within the regime (no small feat to be sure). This is, personally, not a “revolution” that I would myself participate in. There are no values behind the protest other than “my guy didin’t win, our vote must not have counted”. Somewhat reminds me of 2000 elections (not to say Iranian elections are anything like American elections).
I can’t quite comprehend this; what policies does Mousavi plan to inact that are so drastically different than what exists today?

Big DIFFERENCE. At least Mousavi would not pursue obtaining nuke weapons and threatening an ally, Isreal.

From what I gathered reading about the protesters is that they want more personal freedom and better relations with the outside world. This is a start.
