ERIE, Pa. | Former President George W. Bush fired a salvo at President Obama on Wednesday, asserting his administration's interrogation policies were "within the law," declaring the private sector - not government - will fix the economy and rejecting the nationalization of health care.

"I know it's going to be the private sector that leads this country out of the current economic times we're in," the former president said to applause from members of a local business group. "You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money."

If we don’t we die.

I'm not sure if we are already at the point of no return.

Tell the John McCains good bye and hello to those that follow the Constitution.

People need to literally SHUN HIM and his stupid daughter.
He doesn't get it. He's od’ed on compromise to the point where he can't see straight.

I don’t want to hear about another of our guys sleeping with someone else. It sets us back years. We know a democrat can sleep with a dead dog and it would be buried in the back pages of a Korean newspaper.

The Demoncrats use that because the GOP is constantly eating its own with who has the higher standard. You are right. People KNOW Demoncrats have NO standards or respectable boundaries.

A republican thinks about doing something wrong, it is front page and negative news worthy for several months.

Yup! The standard is absurd. If GOPer burps it makes the headlines. It's sick.

You miss the point entirely.

Bush gave us Obama!

Not a legacy to be proud of.

Ok? You don’t think John McCain and the king’s stupid supporters did that.
Whatever, blame President Bush that is your choice.

Spot on, but pretty funny coming from the guy who got the bailout ball a-rollin', and whose so-called "compassionate conservatism" nearly destroyed the GOP.

“You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money.”

Actually, Medicare Part D might well convince Congress to leave the over 65 crowd ALONE, on any new health care laws.

That is absurd,
Bush was not perfect, but Gore and Kerry would have both been terrible!

*cough* Medicare Part D *cough* No Child Left Behind *cough* TARP bailout

I absolutely love W.
I understand your complaints, but
1- medicare part b- he faught off the dems whose plan was much worse.
20nclb?? same
3-tarp think about what really happened, bernanke and paulson walk into his office and says if you do not do this now, we will have a complete financial collapse that will make the 30’s look like a walk in the park, well he signed all those things, but he did so with very good reasons and prevented a lot of bad thigs from being worse.

...and I voted for keyes in the 1st primary.. Couldn’t help myself.

Bush abandoned conservatism and embraced big government. That killed the GOP’s chances in 2006 and 2008. Spending like a liberal and expanding the federal bureaucracy doesn't sit well with conservatives. Promoting the Paulson-Geither TARP One boondoggle didn't help matters either.

I miss President Bush. I didn’t always agree with him, but he loved this country and did what he thought was best. Unlike Obozo, who hates this country, is doing all he can to ruin it, and isn’t even a citizen. Last fall, Henry Paulsen, an Obama supporter, tricked Bush into thinking we would have a Depression if he wasn’t given $700B immediately just so Obozo would win the election. Paulsen did nothing to help the economy and we don’t even know where the money went. The Dems controlled Congress and could have easily voted against the $700B, but they couldn’t wait to make out like this was Bush’s debacle. I would take President Bush back in a minute. Now there’s a man with integrity and America’s best interests at heart.
