The trouble with such a database is that government computer and network security is an absolute joke.

We have such a database in my state. I always loved getting reports on my patients that were getting excessive amounts of narcotics on sometimes a daily basis from different pharmacies. Then I could tag their charts with a “no narcotics” label. Really cuts down on the dirtbag visits.

"The trouble with such a database is that government computer and network security is an absolute joke." Who says it has to be government? It isn't. It's an independent network in which all pharmacies belong and control.
