While Iran's opposition announced another day of street demonstrations, an Iranian provincial prosecutor, Mohammadreza Habibi, warned that the "few elements" behind the pro-Mousavi protests could face the death penalty under Islamic law, Reuters cited an Iranian news agency on Wednesday.

Habibi, prosecutor-general in the central province of Isfahan, said the elements behind the post-election unrest were controlled from outside Iran and urged them to stop "criminal activities," the Fars News Agency reported.

So much for "robust debate." I'm sure Zero is even more deeply concerned, now.

“I’m sure Zero is even more deeply concerned, now. “

Honestly, I doubt that.

No one should be shocked by this information. The death penalty is the standard punishment for nearly anything under islamic law.

Islam is a cancer on humanity.

...warned that the "few elements" behind the pro-Mousavi protests could face the death penalty...

Wow. I'm glad we live in a Country that celebrates diversity, supports a multi-party political system, promotes free speech, the right to gather, etc. ;-)

Good thing no-one here is trying to suppress political opposition by say targeting specific groups for extra scrutiny such as ex-Military, single-issue voters, people who support border security, talk radio, one specific news channel, etc... Oh, wait, that's right - the obamanationists have been using and abusing their power to do just that. Look at Iran people, that could be us in 2012...
