Brazil, Russia, India and China form bloc to challenge US dominance
Tony Halpin in Yekaterinburg
With public hugs and backslaps among its leaders, a new political bloc was formed yesterday to challenge the global dominance of the United States.
The first summit of heads of state of the BRIC countries Brazil, Russia, India and China ended with a declaration calling for a multipolar world order, diplomatic code for a rejection of Americas position as the sole global superpower.
President Medvedev of Russia went further in a statement with his fellow leaders after the summit, saying that the BRIC countries wanted to create the conditions for a fairer world order.
He described the meeting with President Lula da Silva of Brazil, the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, and the Chinese President, Hu Jintao, as an historic event.
The BRIC bloc brings together four of the worlds largest emerging economies, representing 40 per cent of the worlds population and 15 per cent of global GDP.
The leaders set out plans to co-operate on policies for tackling the global economic crisis at the next G20 summit in the US in September.

More of that Hopey Hopey Changey Change.
Israel should join this bloc if Obama starts messing with them even more.
We are basically here for the taking.
If the most recent election wasn’t a big white flag to the world, I don’t know what is.
We deserve whatever comes to us as a consequence of our nation’s stupidity!
And with Obamawuss in charge they will win.
Thanks Obama for giving them the opening. You are accomplishing what would have been impossible just 6 months ago.
India is attending as an observer. Same status as a country like, say, Sri Lanka.
Russia and China are the only ones pushing for it.
Stop the outsourcing and let’s see what happens.
We are toast. The only question is whether or not they will finish the job with nuclear weapons.
The Brazilians will find out cuddling up with wolves will get one bitten. The Indians have enough good sense to know this is a sham.
America is leader not because of the dollar, but because of innovation and innovation has never been top on these BRIC folks resume. How long before they run out of things they can copy from one another?
China will use then bully the 3 others. For some unexplicable reason the Russians have always fancied themselves as smarter than the rest of humanity, and not something history has ever shown.
If nobama succeeds, BRIC may find the whole shootin match suffers right along with us.

if only some of YOU people in China, and India, and Brazil, and Russia had used your many gifts to improve the world, fight terrorism, and communism, and the nazis....
America did not ask to be the "super power"....we were thrust into that role....
so go form your committees and your alliances.....we'll be the first to be asked to save the world , again....
So much for the Obamamaniac’s theories about foreign policy.
therefore... we must stop ALL business with these countries.
i know, the globalists will go on about how it will hurt the US and how i'm a protectionist. yup, got me. i'm for making the goods here and selling them domestically and overseas.
here's a question... if we stopped shipping goods to those countries, and pulled the sales back to the US (even without a bump in price due to labor increases)... what would happen to our GDP? would it go up or down?
import($b) export($b) net($b) brazil 32.20 27.63 4.57 china 279.82 84.39 195.43 india 26.36 22.43 3.93 russia - 14.50 (14.50) total gain if on-shored all offshore business from these countries ($billions): 189.43 per yearanswer: our GDP would increase by $189b, or about 1.3%
this would also increase the strength of the dollar, as it's supposed to be based on the production capacity of the American worker. as an added bonus, we would improve our strategic capabilities as manufacturing jobs would come back to the US (not everyone can be a middle manager sipping chocolate lattes all day)
“Brazil, Russia, India And China Form Bloc To Challenge US Dominance”
With Dumb’O in control, that should be a piece of cake!
Yeah, I can’t understand for the life of me why Russia wouldn’t help in beating the Nazis.
Now, perhaps you should break out the history books. If you do, you will find out that Germany actually lost the war on the Eastern front against the Russians. The war in Russia was Hitler’s main focus and the vast majority of German military assets were committed there. I’m not saying that the US and Great Britain didn’t assist, but Russia clearly bore the vast majority of the burden. And they also lost at least 20 million people during the war.
