MIAMI (AP) -- Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno appears to have lost in an unlikely matchup with former NBA star Alonzo Mourning.
A committee charged with deciding what to call a new high school in North Miami was considering naming it after one of the two, and last week chose the athlete and his wife.

What lesson does this teach? An NBA star? Reno? Huh?
Imagine the government forcing a child ( under threat of armed police action) to attend a school after an NBA star or Reno, the person who flamed to death a religious community!

Why would anyone mourn over Janet Reno?
The Butcher of Waco or a basketball player... tough choice. It’s really getting hard to find role models for kids these days.

Alonzo Mourning has been a role model for the kids of Miami since he went there to play his sport.
He has had to be one of the very good guys or his very Christian wife would kill him.
Where the very les bean Reno is responsible for WACO and sending a little scared boy back to communist Cuba against his families wishes.
I don’t know much about basketball Joe, but I’m sure anybody who plays it for a living would make a better role model for children than Janet “The Butcher” Reno. I haven’t had much use for her since all those kids burned to death in Waco. And there is the bean thing. The more the better.
He is one of the few good guys in the n.b.a. really. No ugly stuff.
