Bull. It depends on the “screw up”. Furthermore, unlike the liberals, conservatives base their judgments on grounded principles, not weather vane “character”.

If an individual can violate sacred vows of matrimony, they can violate their vows of office. These individuals render decisions that don’t just affect their family, but the taxpayer. They should be held to a high standard.

Liberals have no character. They are political whores.

Furthermore, you can forgive, yet demand discipline and/or reprimand.

Are you suggesting that if a congressman commits a sexual act against a 5 year old child, his egregious crime should be dismissed?

I don’t want a president whose so weak in character that he can’t turn from temptation which violates a sacred vow. We all know what that looks like.

It is, of course, hard to come up with a rule that works, all the time.
All I can tell you is that GREAT men, from King David to several of the Saints, like Aquinas, I believe, lived less than pure lives.
I still believe that they made it to Heaven.
I still believe that other good men followed those men.

You are out of town.
A rapist breaks into your home, while your wife and daughter are asleep.

Do you CARE if the cop, or the neighbor next door, who come to the rescue, are as clean as the wind driven snow?

A nuclear missile is launched at our country, and an Air Force officer has the ability to shoot that missile down, before it strikes us.

Do you CARE that this man has cheated on his wife?

NO, we should not encourage such bad behavior, but honor and character have many different facets and -—

Actually, moral purity does NOT exist in this world, anywhere!

So, yes, those who cheat on their wives should be held to account.

However, if Republicans expect all of our politicians to be perfect, Republicans can NEVER gain or hold power for very long, in this country.

We ALL fall short of the glory of God!
