He is a blight to the LEO community and cannot be trusted to carry out his duties with integrity.

Ayup. He's a part of that 99% that give the rest a bad name.

Actually, the answer's pretty simple, and on the side of the ambulance: Muskogee Creek Nation. As the ambulance is based on tribal land, and maintains tribal plates, it is automatically subject to any Oklahoma state trooper's desires. Them damn Indians didn't get out of his way fast enough.

Dashcam video pretty much proves the entire point - State Trooper came up on the back end of the ambulance, the ambulance moved to the side when there wasn't a vehicle on the easement, trooper continued, then returned to ‘Write a ticket.’

Thankfully, there wasn't any gay pride sticker on the ambulance, or this might have been a hate crime the liberals love to tout about.

Reminds me of this . . .

ASSISTANT: I had five Chuckles. I ate a green one, and the yellow one, and the red one is missing!

DRIVER: I don't even like Chuckles!

There’s not really a “siding with the LEOs” option here anyway. There were TWO troopers on the scene — the out of control one who instigated the whole thing, and the one who responded to his call for back-up. The second one behaved very professionally and played a key role in the eventual de-escalation of the situation. Per his official statement to the OHP, he was perplexed over why the ambulance had been stopped and why the officer had called for *emergency* back-up (the call for back-up was right at the beginning of the stop, before anything had escalated).

The “whole scene” shows the cop losing control, and struting like he is god. This guy needs to be fired, and made an example of. We don’t want, nor should we tolerate this type of action. The dashboard cam shows that the ambulance driver did pull over as quickly as safely possible. As soon as the cop was informed of there being a patient in the back he should have allowed them to leave immediatley. Instead, he starts shouting and threating trying to show everyone that he is boss. This is crazy mental illness on parade!

The paramedic has explained why he stepped out of the ambulance. He saw the patrol car racing towards the ambulance at high speed with lights and sirens for no apparent reason, and then when the patrol car got close enough, the paramedic saw a woman in the patrol car with the trooper. His initial assumption was that the patrol car was seeking urgent medical attention for the woman — who turned out to be the wife of the trooper, and whose presence in the patrol car has yet to be explained publicly by anyone.

You have to wonder what happened to "protect & serve"?

Long gone. It's now "cover your ass and get away with murder."

Wow! Never mind my previous post. I just saw the entire video in Clovis_Skeptic's post and the cop does look out of control. The FOX video only shows the last part of the confrontation. EMT White showed remarkable restraint and was very polite. I should have looked for more video before posting.

Sorry... I disagree. I watched the entire thing from both the cell phones and the squad car camera and the officer was out of bounds completely. The guy in the back of the ambulance came out calmy and said we can deal with this after I get my patient to the hospital and the officer would have none of it. The officer had no concern over the condition of the patient in the back and it was for minutes into the stop before he opened the door and said we’ll be getting you to a hospital. What if the woman was having a heart attack. This moronic officer could have killed someone because an ambulance driver wouldn’t “kiss his ring”...

Just pisses me off.

Thanks. That’s pretty much what everyone saw in the videos. That cop looked startled that EMT White was so deceptively strong. He must have thought he was dealing with a puffy marshmellow type guy ~ not a hard as a rock EMT who could carry you to safety while doing CPR and bandaging up bleeding wounds.

This was a simple traffic stop made complicated by the fact that the “manager” of the ambulance chose to get out of the vehicle and confront the officer.

I don’t care who you are... If you get out of your vehicle on a traffic stop and get in the officer’s face, you’re going to jail. Like that 72-year-old granny from the other day. The officer will control the scene, and will arrest anybody he has to to ensure that he maintains control of the scene.

That’s the officer’s job. He was doing his job. He tried to get the manager, who had nothing to do with the issue at hand, to get get back into the vehicle. That would have defused the whole situation.

There are too many recent videos of cops out of control. Someone should make a tv show of "Wildest Police", to go along with all the other police oriented reality shows. I am not a cop hater, but these videos now widely available on youtube, are just too much.

Is this the new reality, are we really in a Police State. "Show me your papers commrade".

Maybe the ambulance attendant should have kept his middle finger with the other four. I think the attendant needs to be fired.

If it was a tribal ambulance, I have a ‘modest proposal’ as how to solve this issue in a manner sensitive to the racial /tribal history of the participants.

Let the tribe scalp the offending cop.

The dashcam video is even worse. The Ambulance didn’t fail to yield *at all*, there was very clearly a car in their way. Also his approach at close to 100mph gave them 3 or 4 seconds to react. Then he used very poor tactics at the call (which he spent 10 seconds at), and then he stopped an ambulance with a patient because someone MIGHT have given him the finger. He never made the slightest move to see if the patient was ok. Arrested ambulance crew *with a patient* basically because he felt insulted. Add in foul language.

The only heroes in this call were the family of the patient. They showed amazing restraint in the face of this bully in a highway patrol uniform.

Having seen the video of this incident, I have to side with the EMT and against the officer. The officer was totally out of line and seemed to be on a major power trip. The EMT was polite and compliant. He tried several times to inform the irrational officer that a patient was en route to the hospital and was first priority. When I saw the video, I commented to my husband “now THAT is racist”. The EMT was a big black man. I think the officer treated the citizen differenty than he would have treated a big white man. In my opinion, it was clear that the officer assumed the EMT was trouble because he was a black man. A true incident of racism. Most of the time claims of racism are unfounded, but this was an actual example of it. The EMT came off as kind and professional, while the officer was a big jerk.
