Sarah Palin has accepted comedian David Lettermans apology made during Monday nights broadcast of The Late Show for crude jokes made about her and her teen daughters last week.
In a statement to FOXNews.com early Tuesday, the Alaska governor said, "Of course it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve."
"Letterman certainly has the right to 'joke' about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction," Palin said. "This is all thanks to our U.S. Military women and men putting their lives on the line for us to secure America's Right to Free Speech - in this case, may that right be used to promote equality and respect."
The apology came after David Letterman took his biggest step to put the furor surrounding his jokes about Gov. Sarah Palin's daughters behind him.

Yes, Ma/am, we do have the right to express our reaction. My reaction is expressed in frequent communications to CBS and the advertisers that I am offended, and will not buy their products until Dave is fired.
in Dave’s case I guess it takes a woman to be the bigger man
bttt
She should invite Dave along on a moose hunt.
You just gotta love how Palin worked in props in her apology acceptance for our troops in uniform...
Anyway, I’m looking to book my next hotel room at Embassy Suites — who canned all their spots on CBS.com. I will also look to buy from any advertiser who publicly acknowledges the poor taste of Letterman’s “joke” and pulls their advertising from the program.
Certainly that is as graceful a acceptance as anyone could ask for.
Vote for the Lady for President.
Go to www.firedavidletterman.com and sign up -by signing up, you will be included in the petition to ALL Sponsors and it will also go out to CBS.
They fired Don Imus didn’t they? So why the double standards now?
Lose a sponsor or two and all of a sudden CBS and Letterman start paying attention and realizing that they f*cked up big time.
The better MAN has stepped up.
Good on you Governor Palin.
He certainly wanted everyone to remember it was a ‘joke’, he said the word ‘joke’ twenty times in his ‘apology’.
I think that was gracious of Governor Palin, and I’m happy she did what she did. As for me, I’m never going to watch Letterman again (not that I was a big watcher to begin with), and I’m not buying from those sponsors that stay with Letterman’s show.
‘They fired Don Imus didnt they?’
IMUS never worked for CBS. Not unless WFAN is owned by CBS, which I don’t think it is...
Game. Set. Match. Palin.
There. Fixed it.
Letterman just exposed the vitrolic nastiness of the left and exposed the difference in the treatment of Palin vs. what 0bama gets in adoration. They are targeting Palin in the most vile manner and their ‘jokes’ are nothing but political demonizations meant to be degrading. And on that note, I hope Palin just stays away from appearing on Letterman’s show. She does not need to ever bring herself down to that level and empower him to continue on this slanderous route against conservatives and anyone who opposes his liberal agenda. Letterman is a nasty person, period.
I also called Embassy Suites and told them my next hotel stay will be with them since they pulled their ads from CBS.
Why Letterman’s “joke” can’t stand!

OK Dave, as long as its a “joke” anything goes, and NO ONE should be upset, least of all your non-judgmental, progressive, too-hip-to-be-moral, leftist buddies.
So by your logic, you are safe to open up with the plethora of potential material that is the incompetent boob Obama.
C’mon, its safe as long as its a joke. Start with something easy, like his race.
