This guy needs to lose his job and perhaps face charges for endangerment of the patient who was being transported. Any word on if the patient survived?
“paramedic Maurice White, Jr.”
No, Earth, Wind and Fire isn’t running an ambulnace service.
I guess the police officer had just returned from combat in iraq.. and just kinda blew it.. he chose to accept administrative leave..
If the ambulance was going without lights and sirens, the driver should have been driving like any other driver, obeying all stops and speed limits.
90% of my patients don’t really need an ambulance. In NJ, a paramedic’s presence means things are more serious, don’t know about OK. But even here a paramedic doesn’t mean the patient is dying, or that we’re going lights and sirens.
Which guy?
Ba de dah....going to the ER, Ba de dah.....with a busted left arm......Bah de dah.....man that must have really huuuuuuuuuuuuuurt.
Not quite right. The ambulance had to go past a car that was already pulled over on the right shoulder. A few seconds after that, you see his brake lights go on and he begins to pull over. The trooper swings past him at that point.
That should have been the end of it. If he simply had to cite the ambulance driver, he should have followed him to the hospital, let them get the patient turned over, and then ticketed the driver. Jerk.
Because of the delay, the only one that can save the patient now is....him.
The guy being the dope driving the squad car right?
Agreed.
Completely inappropriate behavior on the part of the trooper.
I hope he is shown the door. He is vile for putting a patient at risk.
Trooper Daniel Martin
Yur FiRed!
Man's brain is toasted like a marshmallow.
Yep. It wasn't as if the ambulance was going to runaway. BTW ambulances and Patrol Cars have an amazing device it's called a radio. The cop can call his dispatcher and have his dispatcher to ask what the ambulance is doing. This way he would know it the ambulance was on a run. In my state ambulance usually run 10-15 mph over the speed limit due to the need for quick turn arounds. Even faster if traffic allows. Also many Paramedics know to run lights and siren can upset their patient. They save the lights and siren for closer in or if the patients condition worsens.
But usually some of the fastest drivers I see are cops going to roll call from their home in their cruisers. Lights and siren off of course.
No...the “man” felt DIS-respective...you MUST respect the badge, and since that respect MUST be automatic, the “officer” KNOWS that you will automatically kiss his a** in any situation as he does whatever he pleases.
Look..I respect cops...but every single one I know has at least a little of this attitude. I work in EMS, and while I;ve never had a confrontation like this, I’ve had the “You MUST show respect” thing thrown at me many times..occasionally from the local guys, often from the staties.
Does any one work anymore? Wonder why she is being transported to the hospital, the whole family is obese. The trooper should be terminated.
‘Roid rage. Nothing else makes sense. I’ve seen it many times before. Look at that little trooper’s bulging arms.
you are bad and good
