Its that personal rating that matters to the American people. They are not informed about anyones policies. Its all about how they feel.

They like Obama because he’s willing to go out on a limb and pick winners in sporting events. Nevermind that he’s drunk with power, an arrogant marxist, and quickly destroying the world’s greatest nation from within.
A considerable segment of the population, when they go to the polls, vote for the candidate they think is going to win. So much easier than having actual political opinions. When “their” candidate wins, they feel vindicated, safely part of the herd. They feel that at least they bet right.
I think an even larger segment of the population habitually “approves” of whoever is in office—because he won the election. Notice how every new President has a personal approval rating of 70%-80%, even if he won with 50.0001% of the vote.
Obama’s personal “approval” rating is due mostly to the fact that he won the election; and he won the election because most people thought he would win the election; and people wanted him to win, and thought he would win, because he is sort of black and that would be good for the country.
When November of 2010 rolls around, and the suckers’ rally is over, and inflation is kicking in, and unemployment is still above 10%, and Obama is no longer the winner of the election of 2008, but just the guy in the White House...
