ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. A man found clinging to a buoy after falling from a cruise ship in coastal Florida has been rescued.
..
Carnival says the man told authorities he slipped after climbing on a railing to get a better view of the pilot boat. The ship was returning from a four-day cruise. The case remains under investigation.

Hopefully he hit stuff on his way down.
Carnival? .. Oh Yeah.
Hit the water, reconsidered his decision and swam to the bouy.
Hold muh beer, I wanna better look.......
Hold muh beer, lemme watch this...
Folks on the party cruises should be issued helmets and safety harnesses. Mandatory.
We have never been on a cruise that a person went overboard.
We have had air lifts and such, oddly enough , we just had a Coast Guard helicopter medivac one week ago on a Alaskan cruise, the poor guy fell somehow in his cabin and broke or seriously injured his neck.
This guy was damn lucky depending on where he fell in.
The weather started getting rough...
Was this guy’s name Gilliagan
People who are not smart should not go out of the booby hatch.
Was he in the closet with a rope around his neck &
Oh never mind.
Happy hour...
The story here is that Carnival did not report this when they docked.
It didn’t hit the news until the guy was found at the buoy.
Cruise lines always look to cover up first and foremost.
Right about that. We were on an Alaskan cruise docked in Skagway. Some of the crew and passengers took a flightseeing tour and the plane crashed, killing all aboard. We wouldn't have known anything about it, but we noticed the sommelier had tear stained cheeks and red eyes. We asked if he was okay and he told us about the crash and that a good friend of his, a fellow crew member, had died in it. Nothing public or formal was said about it at all.
He told us there was to be a memorial service the following morning in one of the conference rooms and we attended, even though we didn't know those had died. That was not announced either.
I guess if they had publicized the tragedy, people might not have bought as much booze as they usually do or gambled as much. They want to keep everybody happy so they'll spend lots of money.
