It revoked their tax exemption-a move that cost them $20,000.

Which begs the question... If the church had known ahead of time standing on principle would cost them their tax exemption ($20,000 of Caesar's money), would the church have relented?

My experience with the leadership of the UMC demonstrztes to my satisfactioon that Conference leaders around the country will be buckling under to secular dictates to protect their financial interests. They will always put their dollars ahead of their Bible.
