Why should I "admit" it if I don't think it's silly. At least I'm man enough to stick around and try to defend myself instead of skulking off like people tend to do when attacked. And I had to shout (once!) to get people's attention to focus on what I'm saying - how many posts did it take to do that, huh?
I feel I'm being hit with player statistics when I'm talking a completely other subject. I never mentioned Malkin's stats, but someone brought them up to defend him, and I get accused of changing the subject.
Crosby has great stats, too, and he pulled a few "stunts" in the Finals, as did a few Wings. But I never said anything bad about Crosby, did I? Now I wonder why that is? Maybe he didn't attack a player after the game was over? I happen to like Crosby and think he's a good player and valuable asset to the Pens - unfortunately the Pens fans here will not give me credit for congratulating the Pens on their win and praising Crosby - no, you'd rather focus on what I said about Malkin, a slight observation that maybe he doesn't belong in the NHL (I'll add "yet"), and it's only an observation. Continue the attacks and I'll continue the defense.
It's only incomprehensible to some because they only see one aspect of what I've said and can't get off that.
So what if I think Malkin isn't mature. Lots of immature players play hockey, even in the NHL. And for that, I'm called "stupid", an "ass", and other names. When did call anyone else a name? Show me, and I will apologize immediately!
Because the stats show it was a silly statement. I went cruising his gamelogs on NHL.com, in his 3 full seasons of play he’s gotten 3 game misconducts, in over half his games he doesn’t even get any minors. That simply doesn’t add up to a temperament reminiscent of the Broad Street Bullies.
Your shouting was pointless because it really just showed your own unwillingness to understand how people actually ARE responding to what you’re saying. You keep insisting that stats don’t matter because you’re not talking about ability, and I keep pointing out that PIM is a stat and the immaturity you’re talking about would show up there.
Funny here you complain about being accused of changing the subject, then you change the subject. We’re not talking about Crosby. We’re talking about whether or not Malkin attacks players at the end of a loss, an action that results in 10 minute game misconducts, a penalty Malkin has received 3 times in his 291 career games.
The matter isn’t that you think he’s immature. The matter is that you said he doesn’t belong in the league because of his 70s era Flyers-esque behavior, and his PIM and GP stats say he doesn’t have 70s era Flyers-esque behavior.
All over the place you’re calling people juvenile and saying they can’t read. You’re pretty needlessly brutal.
And for your other post. Yes not all penalties get called. But 3 times in almost 300 games (and never resulting in a suspension) is basically none, unless we assume the refs are ignoring 90% of the time he’s doing it. Yes he went after Zetterberg. But as you say, Zetterberg was hounding him, and periodically players hounding others get things turned into a fight. Which would be one of 3 in Malkin’s career. Once every hundred games just isn’t a pattern.
