Yikes...well, the question is, who are the shooters? Police, Basji, Revolutionary Guard? It’s probably not the Artesh (Regular Army), they have a tradition of NOT doing that in Iran. They’re proud of it and rightfully so. I have a feeling this will not end here. Those kids will learn quick that freedom isn’t free and I think their profs are going to hold impromptu lectures on “why we’ll succeed when the Chinese kids did not”. I also think we might see troop movements soon. Both the RG and the Army are going to jockey for position..this is getting ugly, especially in the link that says Ahmadinajad came in 3rd..and we’re going to negotiate with him like nothing happened? Come on Barak, this is a no frigging brainer! Even the CPC thugs who gunned down those kids in 1989 nominally had more legitimacy than this little monster. Don’t meet with him, insist his removal from office occur before you meet with ANYONE!

Reportedly, it was Basiji irregulars, opening fire from their compound at demonstrators. This seems to have pissed some people off:

I pray that the Artesh regular Army rises up together with the protestors and smashes the Revolutionary Guard and their Arab mercenaries. The Artesh is very prestigious and bears a grudge against the Pasdaran who are treated like spoiled kids by the regime for decades.
