I expect a “we are monitoring the situation closely” type of answer.
The mullah’s actions have put Obama in a box. Free and fair elections are the bedrock of democracy and the essence of “robust debate”. Will he come out and address the significant issues with the election thereby alienating Ahmadinejad? Will he legitimize Ahmadinejad thereby alienating all democracies and showing his discussion of democracy in Cairo to be worthless?
This could be fun to watch.
0bama should be demanding to meet unconditionally with the legitimate leader of Iran — Mousavi.

Now, now....it was because of Obama’s speech that the Iranian people got to have this wonderful election in the first place. Because of his speech everything was fair and above board, and these protesters are merely “purveyors of hate and terroristic activity.” Obama has done all that he can and the only reason it is out of control for the Iranian gov’t is simply a problem that started with the administration before him.
