More information here: Obama Fires IG Who Exposed Political Corruption

Media outlets are investigating some funny business involving Barack Hussein Obama, AmeriCorps and one of his biggest supporters.

It seems that an AmeriCorps inspector general received a missive from an Obama legal counsel last night ordering him to resign within the hour or be fired. There was only one small hitch: Obama’s legal goon was working outside of the law.

Obama himself co-signed the Inspectors General Reform Act prohibiting inspector generals from being harassed or fired in retaliation for doing their jobs. The measure also included a provision requiring the president to notify Congress “at least 30 days” before firing any IG.

Maybe Obama simply “forgot” about the provision — as he so often does — when he ordered the immediate firing of the IG — after business hours.

As soon as the media began looking into the attempted firing, the White House quickly backed off from their hasty decision to fire the IG.

So what did this AmeriCorps inspector general do to get on Obama’s bad side? His job, of course.

An inspector general’s job duties includes weeding out corruption and fraud within government.

From Fox News.

The firing apparently stems from Walpin’s investigation of a non-profit group, St. HOPE Academy, run by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California (and a big Obama supporter). “[Walpin] found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car,” the AP reports. In April, the U.S. attorney declined to file any criminal charges in the matter and criticized Walpin’s investigation. But at the same time Johnson and St. HOPE agreed to repay about half of the $850,000 it had received from AmeriCorps.

Remember, please, that the complaints that were being investigated stemmed from the camp of former mayor Fargo, a huge lib, and it stank of back room politics. The U.S. attorney found no criminal conduct but the incumbent Dem (Fargo) and her camp kept up the pressure hoping to derail Johnson’s mayoral bid. Elevating KJ to one of BHO’s ‘biggest supporters’ is a bit far fetched and sounds like a lot of hyperbole to make him sound more important so the scandal sounds more raunchy.

Having watched this thing play out locally I really think Fargo created a lot of noise for political reasons, and that the IG should have closed the case when the US Atty did.
