They should remain neutral and silent then! If they can’s support the rebels, they should stay out entirely.
what else should they do? the only thing they are interessted is the contine of the oil flow from Iran to Europe. it´s hard to by oil from a system you don´t recognize.
Staying silent is tantamount to not recognising the regime, and therefore the election that spawned it, which would be used by the regime in exactly the same way.
