If I am correct you are a Methodist minister. The Methodist church has gone totally apostate and certainly promotes socialism. Please explain to me why you demand more from a political party than a church.
I demand far more from my church than my political party. You would never stand for the Republican party to do the things the Methodist church espouses. I don't get it.
Actually, you have it backward. A person should work harder to work for reform in their church than in their political party.

X has been and continues to be a conservative influence upon the United Methodist Church, so the assertion that it is completely apostate is poorly stated, if not flatly wrong. Like repubs, there are internal factions opposed to the liberal aspects of the denomination - they work from within to bring change
