JERUSALEM – Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Sunday called for creation of a limited Palestinian state for the first time, saying it would have to be disarmed.

Netanyahu made the call during a major policy speech about his Mideast peacemaking intentions.

"In any peace agreement, the territory under Palestinian control must be disarmed, with solid security guarantees for Israel," he said.

I think we should send Jimmy Carter in to collect the weapons from the Palestinians.

Not gonna happen.

Any new “palestinian” country will then create a 500,000 man “police” force or invite foreign armies or Biblically, a UN Armed force.

Why is any of our land under Palestinian control in the first place?

Bibi should make reasonable demands of the Palistinians and let them decide their own fate. Terrorists must be brought to justice, and Palestinians must tolerate other religions and Jews.

“If we get this guarantee for demilitarization and necessary security arrangements for Israel, and if the Palestinians recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish people, we will be willing in a real peace agreement to reach a solution of a demilitarized Palestinian state alongside the Jewish state,” he said.”

The AP is trying so hard to declare Obama forced Israel to give in that they kind of forgot the conditions that will be unacceptable to Obama and the PA.

There are some in Israel who have noticed O’s “holier, smarter and more powerful than thou” attitude, and they call him : O’ba’al (ba’al being the pagan god wortshipped at the time of the ancient Israelites). i find that quite descriptive. after this speech, O is wondering if Israel is indeed one of his 57 states, poor thing!

Because, frankly, other ARABS treat Palestinians like dirt.
Egypt does not want them.
Jordan does not want them.
Israel would gladly hand over Gaza to Egypt, with the understanding that Egypt would control the territory and fight the terrorists.
Egypt is too smart for that deal.
The Palestinians are crazy people, fed hatred and vile political trash since birth.
Besides, other Arabs look down on what were nomadic Bedouins for centuries.
Palestine has NEVER been controlled or Governed by Palestinians, at any time in history.
Palestinian leaders have been supporters of terrorists, hijackers, Communists, Nazis and every other crazy ideology or action you can think of.

I think given the history of violence initiated by the "Palestinians", the disarmed state makes total sense.

What it does is show who is the roadblock and it isn't Israel.

IMHO, a brilliant chess move!

I take it the little god in the white house is a bit ticked right about now.

Maybe not. Perhaps Obama pushed his extreme demands on settlements as a diversion to force Bibi to agree to the "lesser" concession of accepting a Palestinian state.

Was Bibi punked?

If you think Bibi was punked, you didn’t listen to his speech.

That is not what he said. He laid down several conditions, One:Disarm any Palistinian state, and two:)Israel must be recognized as a rightful Jewish state. He also mentioned that Jerusalem must remain undivided. None of this is acceptable to the Muslims, nor will it ever be.

He basically slapped Bozo down with his speech. I am not surprised that AP is trying to spin it a bit.
