I didn't say anything about Slick Willard doing a better job.

Haley does have negatives. He does have positives. The biggest issue hurting the GOP now is the image of incompetence. Haley does have a record of competence. He performed well in the hurriance recoveries for his state. Thus, he can show to the general public that he can be trusted to handle a national crisis. Plus, he did a decent job as RNC Chair. We need a person with a proven record of party builiding. 2012 is a long time. Just keep an open mind. Lets see how the folks above the Mason Dixon line react to his to introduction should he actually run.

Haley should have run in 2008. He was far better than the slate of candidates put out by the Republicans at that time.

Haley was busy running for re-election in 2007. It would have been awarkward for himn to run for President when he just got re-election. 2012 for Haley would have good timing. Haley’s term expires in 2011. Thus giving him time to leave office and run for President if he’s interested.

That’s unfortunate.
