Is this the same state that advertises on CNBC on a daily basis urging businesses to move to Michigan? It ends with the actor saying, “Because in Michigan, you get the upper hand.” Obviously, a play on the geographical shape of the state. It sounds more like Michiganders are getting a bit less than the “upper hand”. More like the “middle finger”.

Michigan continues its slide into the realm of a third-world country. President Obama wants to Michiganize the rest of the country.

The legacy of Democrat rule: Cities are bulldozed and roads returned to dusty trails.

Democrats have promised to do for the auto industry what they have done for Michigan.

What's next? Refurbishing the old Indian trails so people can get to market?

About a quarter of the state's county road agencies largely left out of the federal stimulus package, which focuses on highways and other major thoroughfares, say they can't afford some costly repaving projects and have crushed up deteriorating roads. Montcalm County alone estimates it saved nearly $900,000 by converting almost 10 miles of pothole-plagued pavement into gravel this spring.
Well of course, what would rural areas filled with hardworking white country folk need with stimulus money? ;') Thanks grellis.

Trust me...on some of those roads the gravel is an immense improvement, with some of them haven't been noticeably fixed in 40 years.

Ah yes, with democrats and liberals in power, the country is once again regressing into a 2nd world nation because of their policies.

As goes Michigan's crumbling economy

Outsourcing has gutted a lot of my area, too. Cheap stuff isn't cheap.

I'm still trying to understand what the big deal is. Michigan has a total of 120,256 miles of roadway and about 50 miles have been reverted in the last three years. Is this really a significant bit of information. Is the rest of the country suppose to feel sorry for Michigan because they had to gravel 50 miles of roadway. Poor people. Good thing they voted for Daddy Obama, he'll fix it for them.
