It was a chance for two busy women to stop and smell the roses. And have a bit of a chinwag.
Sarah Brown and America's First Lady Michelle Obama are seen here wandering through the garden at Downing Street earlier this week.
The pair, whose budding friendship formed during the G20 summit in April, caught up on each other's news while their children played nearby.
Sasha Obama, ten, and her eight-year-old sister Malia are said to have been impressed with the vegetable patch tended by the Brown boys John, five, and Fraser, almost three.
Both grandmothers were also in attendance with Mrs Obama's mother Marianne Robinson, and Mrs Brown's, Pauline Macaulay, helping to keep an eye on the youngsters.
A source said: 'Sasha and Malia were particularly taken with the strawberry patch Fraser has cultivated and he was thrilled to be able to show it off.'

I’m glad Michelle, her daughters and relatives are having such
a nice long european vacation on the taxpayers dime.
She has put in so much hard work as first lady, really, I just
don’t know how she does it!
looks like she brought a whole trunkful of presents this time
Sasha Obama, ten, and her eight-year-old sister Malia...

nice belt... :o)
She’s packin the pounds on.
She also does look pregnant.
Nobody’s home tending the WH garden.
She looked the same at the coronation ball.
That poor woman simply doesn’t know how to dress.
Is it my imagination or is Mrs. Bozo’s a** getting bigger by the day? Another fine example of the “first lady of fashion!”.
They’ve got one thing in common, dress size. I believe they both wear a 44L.
I will be SUCH a fasion rebel if the new ‘style’ is to wear your belt OVER your sweater.
No way Michelle fits into one of Sarah’s dresses! (Of course, Sarah barely fits into Sarah’s dresses...)
Michelle is overeatin’ over there.
If she is actually pregnant, it will be a US media spectacle on the scale of the Charles and Di wedding. It will be 6-7 months of absolutely insufferable, over-the-top, 'round the clock coverage, of the next "super baby".
I might have to take a sabbatical from the US just to make through. I hear New Zealand is stunning this time of year.
Zero has his teleprompter. MO has that damned belt. Ick.
I wonder who the father is?
...looks like the First Belt had been living the high life on too much caviar....very bad pic.
