SEOUL, June 13 (Yonhap) -- North Korea said Saturday it will start enriching uranium and weaponize all new plutonium, protesting the U.N. Security Council resolution expanding sanctions on it.
The North, which triggered the resolution after its second nuclear test on May 25, also said it will "respond militarily" if the U.S. and other countries attempt what it called a "blockade."
The resolution calls on states to conduct inspections of North Korea ships suspected of carrying materials related to weapons of mass destruction.
North Korea is setting UN precedent for Iran by proxy.
I watched Dr. Susan Rice on this issue the other day and she seems inept at best. (Not to mention that she seems like a very angry woman).
The US owes trillions of dollars to other nations, and is current trying to hustle trillions of dollars MORE out of "investor nations" at this time.
The US has relinquished its sovereignty and ability to use its military power to the Lenders, primarily, China and Russia (and Saudi Arabia to some extent).
Think about it:
Do you really think China and Russia are going to lend more money to the US so we can put troops on their borders?
We've got to end this MAD borrowing of money from other countries NOW.
I don't think we can wait until November 2010 ... our nation's sovereignty will all be spent on Bailouts and Recovery Acts. And it's happening -- RIGHT NOW.
Actually, if Truman had of let MacArthur do his job the way he saw fit, we wouldn’t be in this mess.
Fighting wars half-assed is folly, but American presidents have yet to learn this valuable lesson (Johnson/Nixon, Bush I, Bush II and now Obama)
Not a problem. Steiner will bring it under control.
How many nukes do they have that are ready to go...one? Preemptive action is the only obvious way to destroy NK threat capability. Sooner or later this will have to be done.
Little Kimmie needs to get whacked. Barry will just call him bad names and metaphorically buy him lunch..
All the bad actors sense weakness in Washington.
NK has made the first move, but I expect Iran to follow now that their “election” is over.
Cut off all the foreign assistance (food, cash, etc.) to North Korea and publicly declare that if NK attacks any of our allies in the region, our defense of U.S. interests there through military retaliation will be swift and severe.
I never understood the reason we took N Korea off the terrorist/ axis of evil list.
Pressure North Korea? A nuclear Japan probably would spur the Chinese into doing that. When it comes to NK, I say just let the Red B@stards starve!
"The obvious solution is to unilaterally disarm, as a gesture of moral leadership to the world. Let us pray -- no, in Arabic."
One of these days, soon, the left is going to beg for the cowboy back.
They are disappointed in what Kim is doing, but they all hope that he will change.
As I have said in the past, hope is not a strategy.
the ONLY hope I have is that since The Bamster is such a narcissist and a chicago thug....at some point he may get angry enough ( his ego having been insulted), that he will do something.
so just maybe he will do the right thing, even if its for all the wrong reasons.
I mean, you just better not ‘ Dis a brother!
Thank god they’re a peaceful state or I’d be worried. :)
In view of this, I think the chances that Japan will not make a diplomatic back-channel intimiations that it has nucleear weapons is REMOTE.
Asia will become very much more MORE COMPLICATED fairly soon —it’s inevitable.
I’m still very interested ina the recon air sampling over the DRPK, of course.
I am not hearing anything final on that.
except that this time no one is offering N.K. any money . . . yet
~~~
Wait for it...
