Affirmative Action to Guide Senate Hearing on Sotomayor

(2009-06-12) — Since Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor appears in a newly-released video claiming she got into Princeton and Yale, despite substandard test scores, because of her ethnic and economic heritage, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced today that it would alter the confirmation hearing process to avoid “the risk of anti-diversity”.

“Most Senators are white males from a higher socioeconomic class than the judge,” said Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy. “Naturally, we’re somewhat prejudiced against a Latina woman, even a wise one. So, as chairman, I’m going to allow some leeway in the accuracy of her answers, limit uncomfortable follow-up questions, and give her the option of ignoring questions that she feels reflect the cultural bias of the Senator.”

Judge Sotomayor, in the video, calls herself “an Affirmative Action baby,” indicating that her mother chose to give birth to her because she was a Latina from a poor neighborhood, even though her vital signs may have been somewhat lower than white, wealthy babies in the maternity ward that day.

Sen. Leahy said he’ll make sure his committee understands that, “The purpose of the Supreme Court is not simply to interpret the Constitution, but to bring to that plain vanilla document a rich diversity of ethnic flavoring that our Founders, limited as they were by their genetic heritage, never imagined.”

It many be satire, but it is probably a de facto account of what is running through the Senate’s collective minds and in looking back (assuming the worst happens and she is seated) honest analysts will say this is what happened.

That satire’s border with reality got a little fuzzy for a minute or two there.

Don’t do that, you nearly gave me a heart attack. I don’t put anything past the Democrats to try to get her appointed.

However, that said, I still think she’s the first offering and that the second will appear to be a better choice, only to end up being worse.

Sotomayer learned English from Curious George, the next nominee may well have learned deviousness from Saul Alinsky.

Satire... but is the tape real? The only reason I’m asking is because given her clearly established history of racism (or “racialism”, as they’re calling it now, it’s not only plausible but entirely possible.

Frankly, Leahy has exhibited a total inability to transition from reality to theory and back to reality so many times I’d suggest that this sort of satire is probably going to end up in his “script” at the hearings.

Zero’s lackeys have given up trying to make her look remotely competent for the highest judicial position in the country. Now, they simply hope we will swallow it quietly, so we’re not “racist.” She’s a symbol and a tool for the destruction of the rule of law in America.

I always thought the “black racial loyalist” Obama put her up to take a few arrows and hurt his minority competitors the LaRaza supremecists.

PAPER: Sotomayor once described herself as 'product of affirmative action'...
Found this, but it's "developing".
