Sakharov said that the Soviet scientists working on nuclear weapons had a copy of the Manhattan Project's "Nuclear Weapons Handbook", translated into Russian and known as the "Black Book", because of its black cover (in the Russian Edition) and because of its content.

There is no doubt that the Soviets had the intellectual horsepower and industrial capacity to build a bomb, the nests of spies in the West just made it vastly easier. Most of them were ideologically motivated, meaning they were idiots. There is something about being cloistered in the academy that blinds people to the evil of totalitarians and tyrants, unto to this very day.

What excuse does the LSM have?

Have you heard of the International Spy Museum? They were on CSPAN today discussing the cold war era of spying and the many American spies who sold out their country to give secrets to the Soviets. Yes Virginia, there really were American spies who spied for Russia. Joe McCarthy did not make that up.

They talked about the Venona Papers which are available in book form. For many years we have been hearing the left scream about MCCARTHYISM!!! as if Senator McCarthy was some power drunk madman who made up lies about innocent people. Now we know that there really were many American communists who valued the works of Karl Marx over our Constitution.
