Is there any hope he can be toppled by a vote of no confidence?
It appears Gordo has survivied the thumping Labour took in the recent council and European Parliamentary elections. Labour has enough of a lead in the House of Commons to defeat any motion of no confidence and the Labour backbenchers have no interest in calling an election in which they are guaranteed to lose. It appear the UK is stuck with Gordo for another year.
It seems unlikely. New labour have too many MP’s, and they all know that although Gordon is bad news electorally if they get rid of him now it will certainly trigger a general election, and on the results of the last local and european elections, Labout would get slaughtered.
