WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) — Shortly before 1 p.m., a person walked up to the Holocaust Museum at 14th and Independence Avenue with a rifle. The suspect then opened fire on the security guard at the entrance, and the guard returned fire.
Both the guard and the suspect are injured and being transported to GW Hospital. They are both critically injured, according to DC Police. The U.S. Park Police are saying three people have been shot.
There are reports that one or more police officers were shot.
