Van Brunn apparently authored a post on some Norwegian forum that someone here linked to as a post here.
So Van Brunn never “authored” a post here, though it’s going to be spun that way.
It was posted because it was perceived as a cool rant about the birth certificate thing - it didn’t have any of Van Brunn’s White Supremacist or anti-Semitic ideology.
Van Brunn’s name was attached to the Norwegian post - I’m sure searching it at the time would have turned up his nutball websites. No conceivable way the Mods would have or should have been expected to do so - but the poster, in an ideal world, would have searched this guy’s name.
You raise two interesting questions:
The first is the more interesting one. Not speaking Norwegian, it's hard to get a sense for what the site is really all about or why von Brunn would post there. Maybe he speaks Norwegian.
As for the second, maybe wannabegeek was just googling around on the question of Obama's highly questionable background, came across a nice bill of particulars on the subject, and decided to post it for discussion??
