Both are bad ideas.
The Electoral College provides a hedge against the excesses of democracy (which was anathema to the Founders). It helps protect the rights of people in small and rural states against encroachments by the large and urban states.
Mandatory universal service is a statist's dream: the power to control the lives of millions of young people for two years at a time. The opportunities for patronage and corruption are boundless.
Yes, I disagree with those two things also. One is necessary for free elections without total control of elections by the population centers, the other,if implemented, would be slavery, forced servitude, even if paid, is slavery. Almost everything else he says is good. We do need to take back our country and, yes, we haven’t really done sh** to stop all the crap we are having to eat now.
