First Lady of flamboyance: Michelle Obama's confident off-duty chic on London city break

Her taste for restrained elegance has earned her the title of First Lady of Fashion.

But Michelle Obama clearly felt something rather more outlandish was in order for a sightseeing trip in London yesterday.

On a visit to Westminster Abbey she wore a trendy colourful tunic embellished with ribbons and fabric flowers.

That is one stupid looking piece of something.

Beyond the disaster of this choice; if Oprah's body had not been photoshopped; it appears that the 'good life' is getting the 'best' of Michelle.

I can understand the two sweaters, I've been in England all week and it's been freezing!!!! I've been wearing two sweaters too. Frankly, in London, anything goes fashion wise. It's definitely a people watcher's paradise. I do not understand her belts.

Well; most travelers, have to 'travel lite'; but in Michelle's case; she can bring the 'whatevers' and never worry about it. . .

As an 'official wife'; rather than 'two' sweaters (despite here fondness for them) she could be wearing a 'coat'! - or a jacket!- or a suit/with either or both! (A long coat would have saved the day; and the pain and suffering it seems her security entourage is experiencing; particularly the man behind her. . .)

Michelle is inviting ridicule; and for Obama; this is surely, too close for comfort, for a man who works as hard as does Obama on his image.

(Wonder if Obama has Drudge blocked on HIS computer; as does the State Department block Drudge on theirs. . .)

That said; am beginning to think 'sweaters' are Michelle's security blanket. . .bet Mom even 'doubled her up' as a child. . .
