ESPN reports Mayfield tested positive for meth

Extremely disturbing news today on the NASCAR front, as ESPN The Magazine's Ryan McGee is reporting that Jeremy Mayfield tested positive for methamphetamines during the May 1 drug screening in Richmond that led to his indefinite suspension from NASCAR.
As McGee notes, court documents revealed that Mayfield admitted to consuming both Claritin-D, the allergy medication and Carl Edwards sponsor, which must be thrilled to be dragged into this, and Adderall XR, medication which Mayfield said was prescribed to help treat attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
But what set people to talking -- and speculating -- was the unnamed third drug, which had not been identified. That drug's name was redacted from the court documents that named the other two drugs. However, citing two sources, McGee reported that the drug was indeed meth. NASCAR's countersuit had said the drug would cause "excessive aggression or exaggerated self-confidence as well as numerous other physical and mental side-effects detrimental to the health and safety of a stock car driver."
**SNIP**
If these latest charges are true, this whole situation just got even stickier for NASCAR, since Mayfield drove the day following the test. This one isn't going away anytime soon.

Is that an unfair advantage?

Oh....must be one of those “green” methane cars....?
I heard it makes things seem faster.

Beware of the Man!
Dumbass.
Aren’t there certain other things that one can ingest that would falsely show up as ‘Meth’ on a drug screen?
Is his car going to be sponsored by a meth lab?
When I worked for a major metropolitan PD, we had a saying...
“Crack don’t smoke itself!”
If he tested positive, it’s because he probably was doing it.
SPEED KILLS!
There are. Even common cold medications can sometimes produce a false-positive. However, with the more expensive, two-step testing, that I would presume that NASCAR springs for, it would rare, from what I understand.
I have no idea if this is true, but unfortunately, the last person on earth I’ll ever believe, is a drug addict. Sounds like they got the dope on him.
Hard to know what’s been going on with him in the years he’s been out of the limelight.
Or he took Sudafed.
somebody slipped him some of a long haul trucker’s staple. Oh my.
If you suffer from attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder should you really be driving a race car?
Adderall is amphetamine, thus you will always test positive for meth if taking addedall
