If they took it at face value then they couldn’t say that Adam had a mother because God tells us....
Gen 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
And you can’t get more plain than that that Adam didn’t evolve.
