BOTH sides of the border?
They’ve been killing (and now beheading) Mexico cops for over a decade, and the US has done nothing (including sealing the border).
Hollow words.
Nothing more.
We now have a “border czar”? I’ll be dammed.
He sounds kinda like NK, and nobody will take him seriously either.
I’m sure our border czar will send the cartels a strongly worded letter if they keep this up.
I wonder what kind of tonnage Zero’s old supplier ships nowadays?
Does this sentence strike anyone else as insane?:
“Should law enforcement, border patrol agents, customs officers or local and state law enforcement officers be targeted that would be considered a major departure from existing practice of the cartels, and a threat that called for a significant response,” he said.”
As if the ‘current’ practice of Mexican drug cartels kidnapping, beheading and bringing in drugs and illegals is ok....(eye roll)
Yeah, let’s get drastic and slap a couple of UN sanctions on Mexico. That’ll show ‘em.
Next week: The auto Czar mails out deep discount car ads.
Bet they're quaking in their boots.
The "czars" are where, exactly, in relation to the President's cabinet?
...or is EVERYONE a "czar" now?
Mr. Obama - Czar of the United States
Mr. Geitner - Czar of the Treasury
Mr. Gates - Czar of Defense
etc. etc..
‘Border czar’ ?
Warned them with a “strongly worded letter”.
Yea, that’ll work.
“Double Secret Probation”?
All I can do is stand aghast at the utter stupidity of this administration.
I feel for the poor guy that has to draft all those stern letters... he must work all night.
While drawing a line in the sand, Bersin did not specify what the US response might be, except to say efforts would be stepped up to apprehend those responsible.
So I take it, what they're doing now doesn't warrant a 'significant response'?
This is plain stupid. It's like telling a drug cartel boss "What you're doing now, while wrong, will be tolerated as long as you don't go further". One could even take it as a green light, because if they're so wishy-washy with the status quo, what's to say they have the sand to retaliate against further incursion?
A Border Patrol Agent from Texas had his mother kidnapped as well as the father of a CBP Inspector and so far nothing has been done. So we can see where this threat is going.
Bersin said a recent call by one cartel kingpin to ramp up violence against US and Mexican law enforcement agents was potentially of “grave significance” and was being “taken seriously” by the administration.
It’s getting to be time for the dreaded “Letter of Grave Concern”..and when that doesn’t work, the czar will jump up and down and throw a tantrum..THAT’LL get the cartels attention..
Nothing much will be done until there is an event like the attack on Columbus, NM, by Poncho Villa. This is becoming more likely, because of the falling numbers of economic illegals to act as cover for the armed and murderous drug smugglers and professional killers.
Likely, a drug convoy escort of Zetas dressed as Mexican military, or Mexican military themselves, armed with military heavy machine guns mounted on their vehicles, will meet up with a group of Americans. Border Patrol would flee the more heavily armed Mexicans, and wisely, as they have done before, but this group will not flee, not understanding the threat.
The Zetas will probably slaughter the majority, but at least some will get away. Then Washington will do everything in its power to downplay the incident, insist that they are working with the Mexican government, etc., etc. But the event will be too bloody for them to ignore. They will try anyway.
But from that point, US private militia forces will have had enough, and they will set up an ambush for the next incursion. And they will also video record the firefight, and possibly a dozen or more dead Zetas. This will finally force the issue.
Undoubtedly, the US government will arrest the militiamen for murder, which despite their best efforts, will not be a closed trial with no media coverage. The USG effort will still be lame, sending some National Guard soldiers to patrol an unimportant and unused section of border.
But from that point on, any armed Mexican who crosses the border will likely be fired on without warning. Unarmed Mexicans may get warning shots.
