NEW conservative strategy: Vote Terry McAuliffe
Posted on 06/09/2009 7:28:06 AM PDT by Gopher Broke
Team,
I heard before that Moran was the weakest but now I am hearing from well-placed sources that we should vote for Terry McAuliffe.
Yes, he can raise money BUT he has extremely high negatives and many, many skeletons in the closet.
So, please, hold your nose and vote for Terry in the RAT primary.

You’re a good guy, I know you are.
That said, have you ever heard about that story by Uncle Remus?
Absolutely, positively, DO NOT throw McAwful in the briar patch. DO NOT!!!

Is it morally correct to pretend to be a friend in order to get close enough to stab someone in the back?
Oh, please. Voting legally in an election is not comparable to stabbing a friend in the back. It is legal in the state of Texas to vote across ballot. Democrat and Republican alike can (and do) do it. This is not a moral issue.
To: Gopher Broke
I don’t think so, Terry is too dangerous to go to a state-wide election. He could pull in way to much money into the state. Plus, I really think that guy is scum.

Legal and morally right are not always ,indeed, often are not,the same.
I submit to you that abortion, including ,partial birth abortion is legal;do you want to tell me it is therefore morally right?
The principles of a person are more likely to be revealed in the little things that get no one's attention ,or in what one does when no one is watching. It is easy to take a stand in public to the cheers of one's friends.
I stand by my opinion that lying about one's party affiliation in order to vote for a weak candidate in the primary, all the while never intending to actually elect that person is dishonorable.

Obama got “elected” without evening proving U.S. birth status-why should a few “skeletons” stop any other Democrat?

I agree that lying is wrong. What I am telling you is that in Texas we don't have to "lie" to vote Republican/Libertarian/Democrat/etc. All of the candidates are on one ballot that every voter in Texas receives. There is no lie involved. It is legal. We in Texas have chosen to allow crossover voting.
To: Clara Lou
So can you vote for one candidate in each party?

When an election rolls around, all of the candidates for each position (governor, state supreme court justice, justice of the peace, constable, whatever the position) are on the ballot. For each position to be decided, the Texas voter can vote for any candidate listed, regardless of party. I could vote for Repub POTUS, Dem governor (perish the thought!), and Green Party dog catcher.
To: Clara Lou
primary or general election?
Of course everyone has the right to vote for anyone on the ballot in general election, but I still maintain it is morally dishonest to vote for someone in the primary whom you do not intend to support in the general election.
But then I also have always thought the primaries,i.e. selection of party candidates ought to be paid for ,and held,by each party, not the state.

As the results are coming in, with 45% of the precincts voting, it appears that even Virginia’s Democrats can’t stomach Clinton toady Terry McAuliffe:
R. Creigh Deeds (D) 65,120 50%
Terry McAuliffe (D) 33,520 26%
Brian Moran (D) 31,327 24%

I voted for Deeds and what I had hoped for came about: McAwful is getting stomped so badly that he will never run for office again in Virginia or any state.

As I understand it Deeds is the closest thing to being an old style Virginia Democrat, but he hasn’t been able to raise money. Since he is the nominee won’t he now get $$$, and because of his positions be the most dangerous candidate?

Yes, he will definitely be the most difficult challenge. And I’m sure the national money will come rolling in.
